Residents in supported living, across Melbourne's inner-north, were excited to receive activity packs to support their wellbeing during lockdown 6.0

"We really appreciate getting these packs, especially things like the crosswords" - Resident

Merri Health's high-risk accommodation response (HRAR) and social support program (SSP), joined forces to lift lockdown spirits, and put smiles on faces, during what has been a tough 12 months for all across Melbourne.

"The Wellbeing Packs have been the lifeline for many older people during the pandemic and it was great to see that brought a smile to residents faces. What a great initiative and collaborative effort between the two teams!!!" - Phil Peladarinos, SSP Team Leader

Provided by the SSP team, delivered by the HRAR team – residents were excited to receive the following in their packs:

  • Arts & crafts activity
  • Craft supplies
  • Word searches
  • Crosswords
  • Quiz
  • Reminiscence activities
  • Food recipes
  • Jokes
  • Colouring activity
  • Social support program flyer

“It was so warming to see the residents excited and extremely grateful as they received their packs. As hard as it is in this current climate for SRS managers to keep residents spirits high in these facilities, these packs certainly brought smiles to residents faces. A good sense of job satisfaction leaving the SRSs!” – Kathryn Boyle, HRAR COVID-19 Response
