Join us at our FREE vegetarian barbeque to celebrate the end of a chapter with The Community Grocer Fawkner.
Since 2015, Merri Health and The Community Grocer have worked in partnership to run the Fawkner franchise of The Community Grocer. We are pleased to report our role in supporting their business set up is now complete, which means we are transitioning the management of the Fawkner franchise to The Community Grocer from November 2018.
Come on down on Wednesday, 31 October as we celebrate our last market, and thank all our wonderful staff and volunteers that have made it possible!

Background
Since 2015, The Community Grocer and Merri Health have created a welcoming space in Fawkner, providing access to fresh and affordable fruit and vegetables for local Fawkner residents and surrounding communities. Three years on, the partnership has;
-
provided over 130 fresh fruit and vegetable markets
- delivered over 340 mixed fruit and vegetable boxes to local Moreland residents
- provided volunteering opportunities to 62 local community members
- initiated a plastic bag free market from January 2018, now rolled out across all Community Grocers.
The Community Grocer has grown a lot over the years, and we are pleased to report that our role in supporting their business set up is now complete. This means we will be transitioning the management of the Fawkner franchise to The Community Grocer from November 2018.
Merri Health will support The Community Grocer during this time of transition, and will continue to be an active partner.
The market will continue to run on Wednesday, 8.30am – 12pm, at the same location. The new market manager from The Community Grocer will start on Wednesday, 7 November 2018.
