Carer families have dino-mite day at Melbourne Museum

On September 23rd, over 100 carers and family members gathered at the Melbourne Museum for a Family Fun Day, facilitated by Merri Health’s Carer Services team.

The event aimed to give carers a day of respite and relaxation from their caring duties, whilst offering kids a fun afternoon at one of Melbourne’s most fun and interactive venues.

Attendees were given free entry to explore the museum, as well as a catered lunch, Imax tickets to see “Dinosaurs of Antarctica” and a goodies bag for the kids. Two sessions of chair yoga were also held, helping parents unwind outside on the beautiful September day.

Overall feedback from the attendees was extremely positive, with one parent sharing: “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We wouldn’t have done a family day out like this if it wasn’t for this event – and we really needed it as a family.”

These events are a great opportunity to offer respite and enjoyment to parents, while giving the kids a chance to be kids. We're looking forward to hosting more exciting family-oriented events in the future!
