Home Care Package will be called ‘Support at Home’ from 1 November 2025
From 1 November 2025, the Government is changing Home Care Packages to a new program called Support at Home.
We understand change can be confusing, so we’ve prepared answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
Support at Home is the new name for the current Home Care Package program. It’s part of the new Aged Care Act starting 1 November 2025. The goal is to make aged care services simpler, more flexible and better tailored to your needs.
No. You don’t need to do anything right now. Holstep Health will continue to support you through this change and will keep you updated regularly.
Yes. Holstep Health will continue to provide your aged care services under Support at Home. You’ll still have the same friendly Care Advisor and support team.
You’ll be assigned a Support at Home Classification Level based on your needs. There are 8 levels with quarterly funding amounts.

If you have any unspent money in your current Home Care Package, you will not lose it. You can still use it under the new Support at Home program.
You can use these funds to:
- Get extra services if your regular budget is used up
- Buy helpful equipment or make changes to your home (if approved)
The Government has capped Care Management Services at 10% of your funding level.
Administrative costs can no longer be charged separately as package management fees. These will now be included in the cost of the services you receive.
Yes. There’s a separate budget just for assistive technology and home modifications, like walking frames, ramps or handrails.
