Help improve our services and join us as a Consumer Representative.

We welcome your participation in helping us to improve our health service. We value your experiences and what you have to say.

Why get involved?

  • You can make a difference to the way we offer our services and programs to the community
  • You will join other consumers and together will provide advice to Merri Health
  • You will be part of community activities and participate in learning and development opportunities

Who can get involved?

Anyone 18 years and older who uses (or has previously used) our services or is a carer of someone who uses (or has used) our services.

What is a Consumer?

Consumers are people who use any type of health services or care for someone who uses a health program or service.

What is a Consumer Representative?

A Consumer Representative is a person who provides advice and can help us to improve health services and programs at Merri Health.

How can you get involved?

Consumer Register

This is an opportunity for people who need flexibility to participate. You can participate as much or as little as you can.

As a Consumer Representative in the Register, you will be invited to participate in activities such as:

  • Provide feedback about the services you or a person you care for uses.
  • Participate in consultations (e.g. surveys and focus groups) and workshops about the services we offer.
  • Participate in reviewing the written material that goes to consumers.
  • Participate in developing policies, strategies and designing new services.
  • Participate as a member of a specific project team.

Consumer Advisory Committee

This is a committee that meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month for 2 hours.

By becoming a member of Merri Health’s Consumer Advisory Committee, you will be able to:

  • Share your experiences, opinions, and knowledge of Merri health services and programs.
  • Provide feedback and/or advice on services, policies, materials, programs, practices and/or sites to make sure they are accessible and inclusive.
  • Take part in reviewing and designing programs and services.
  • Participate in organisational strategic planning.
  • Participate in other opportunities (e.g. public speaking, media).
