Your new role

Led by Merri Health in Victoria, the Carer Gateway provides services and support to unpaid carers. These services are provided by a group of seven health and social support providers through a consortia arrangement.

The Procurement Officer oversees the administrative requirements in the engagement, maintenance, monitoring, and review of all Carer Gateway subcontractors, contracted counsellors and suppliers in Victoria. The objective being that any provider engaged, operates in line with Carer Gateway policy and relevant contractual requirements, and meets the needs of consortia partners and ultimately the needs of carers.

You will be responsible for

• Support with establishing and implementing new processes and systems to create a standardised, streamlined approach for the procurement of goods and services in the provision of support and respite services to carers on behalf of Carer Gateway.
• Ensure service agreements and compliance documentation are received and meet requirements
• Provide guidance, support and information to consortia partners with any aspect to the on-boarding of service providers to ensure compliance with policy and procedure.
• Seek to identify service delivery gap areas where carer needs are not able to be met due to the limited number of, or non-existent, contractual arrangements being in place.

What you will need to succeed

• Experience and high degree of proficiency in the use of information technologies and Microsoft Office;
• Strong capability to foster and maintain strong working relationships internally, externally, with our consortia partners and sub-contractors;
• Analytical mindset and problem solving, solution focused skills;
• Proven accuracy and meticulous attention to detail;
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
• Results driven and being in a fast paced environment

Desirable:
• Community development, health administration or management experience
• An understanding of strategic thinking, planning and service development concepts.
• Knowledge of the Carer Support Framework for Integrated Carer Support Services (ICSS).
• Knowledge of the Carer Gateway Service Provider Operating Manual
• Knowledge of issues impacting carers from Indigenous, CALD and LGBTIQA+ backgrounds
• Ability to speak a relevant community language.
