We value and celebrate what makes you unique.
Merri has a diverse workforce made up of people with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives. We have a large network of partners and working groups that support our inclusive workforce and practices.
Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
Merri Health has a vision for reconciliation where the wellbeing of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Moreland and surrounding areas will be enhanced through respect, equity and recognition.
Our RAP committee works with the wider organisation and local community to help close the health gap through awareness, education and initiatives, support for the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and opportunities for employment and careers.
Rainbow Tick (LGBTI)
Merri Health is a Rainbow Tick accredited organisation which means that we provide safe and welcoming spaces and have inclusive policies and procedures to make sure everyone feels safe accessing our service.
Workplaces are an important place for addressing the underlying attitudes, behaviours and systems that foster inequity, and we’re leading by example.
The ‘Gender Equality in Merri Health’ project looks at ways to make our organisation a more equitable, safe and an inclusive workplace for everyone, regardless of their sex or gender identity.
At Merri we understand that family violence is a workplace issue. In conjunction with Women’s Health in the North, our Family Violence Committee has designed and implemented a proactive approach to supporting victims of family violence in the workplace.
