A specialist knee clinic for people with osteoarthritis of the knee. You will have access to a team of specialists and will be given a recommended care plan that's right for you.

You will have access to:

  • Orthopaedic surgeon
  • Advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapist
  • Dietitian
  • GP experienced in musculo-skeletal medicine

Who can use this service?

Anyone that is 40 years or older with osteoarthritis of the knee and living in the North Western Melbourne area.

Do I need a referral?

Yes, you will need to be referred by your doctor and will need a recent knee x-ray. See below for referral details.

What is the referral criteria?

Patients must:

  • Be from the North-Western Melbourne area
  • Be 40 years of age or older at the time of the referral
  • Have a primary diagnosis of osteoarthritis knee

Are there referral requirements?

Yes, you will need:

  • An X-ray taken within the last 6 months: lateral knee, skyline patella and weight bearing AP knee
  • To make the referral to Professor Peter Choong, Community Osteoarthritis Knee Clinic
